Westborough, MA, February 22, 2007 – Vic Melfa, CEO of The Training Associates (TTA) has been nominated for a leadership award in the training industry. A pioneer in the field of IT training, Melfa now heads a $ 20 million company which focuses exclusively on trainer solutions, partnering with such industry giants as Microsoft and CompTIA as well as emerging companies in the hot security market – like Security Certified and others.

In addition to establishing partnerships, The Training Associates added value to its client base in 2007 by introducing an industry first comprehensive web-native ERP system for automated trainer request and deployment. The system gives clients access to the company’s online database of over 5,000 standard courses and speeds the requisition process, enabling the company’s professional staff to get a head-start on matching trainers to client needs. Several years in the making and costing over a million dollars, the system represents a significant commitment by the company to its growing client base.

The Training Associates has also been recognized in 2007 as a leading provider of training and development outsourcing services and was just selected by HRO Today as one of its Baker’s Dozen, along with IBM, Accenture Learning, Skillsoft and other industry leaders.

Melfa was active in the growth of the computer training industry from its beginning!  He was the founder & CEO of one of the first and most successful training companies in America. With eight Authorized Education Centers, Vitronix was the largest Northeast computer training company which he sold to multibillion-dollar IT Service Company. It had the first and largest Microsoft, Sun and Novell Education Centers in New England and the first Authorized Oracle Training Center in the country.

Melfa has been a New England Entrepreneur of the Year finalist three times, was CEO of an “INC. 500” Fastest Growing Company two times, and was an original founder of both CompTIA and the Information Technology Training Association (ITTA) which is now CompTIA's Technology Learning Group.  He has authored many industry articles, been a featured conference speaker and presenter of widely acclaimed white papers, including the groundbreaking: Staff & Contract Trainers – Costs, Comparisons & Considerations for Strategic Decision Making.
