What would you sing at Karaoke night?
Any song by the Captain and Tenille is always tempting, but my favorite at the moment is Chaka Khan’s “Tell Me Something Good.”
What is your favorite thing about your career?
I love that my career has been so varied. I began as an academic, earning a PhD in English, then transitioned into corporate L&D. The common thread is my passion for teaching and writing.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
If the stars had aligned, I would be a mystery writer. I enjoy reading all kinds of mysteries that focus on complex and interesting detectives, such as Walt Longmire, Thomas Lynley, and Morse.
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?
A snow leopard. They live in a rugged and snowy habitat, are reserved and independent, and have cool gray/green eyes. Unfortunately, they’re almost extinct.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Finishing my dissertation. I didn’t think I could do it, but I did. That accomplishment gave me the confidence to do other things I thought were impossible, like rock climbing for a year.
