Project Summary: Garmin
Garmin, a household name for GPS navigation and wearable technology has 60 offices and 11,500 employees worldwide. Garmin is strongly invested in innovation, and employee growth and development. With majority of their employees located in their corporate office in Olathe, KS, Garmin offers the opportunity for employees to extend their knowledge and grow their skills in Microsoft computer applications. Employees can sign up for classes offered on a regular basis on the entire Microsoft suite, and at various levels. To deliver the Microsoft courses, Garmin used internal technical resources. Unexpectedly, this trainer they used left the company with employees already signed up for classes. Because of the departure of their trainer, four months of courses were cancelled, and Garmin was behind on their training. During this time, Garmin realized that not only did they need assistance to train, but they also really wanted to be able to expand their technical offerings to the employees. With the need to expand, Garmin decided it was best to outsource for training talent, which led them to partner with TTA. By outsourcing their training and partnering with TTA it allowed them to be able to offer a whole range of technical classes for their employees on demand. TTA was able to quickly identify quality resources with the necessary experience to meet Garmin’s training needs and allow them to broaden their course selection.
